SEE YOU AT THE HOLIDAY MART!

SEE YOU AT THE HOLIDAY MART!

Let’s start this post off by just saying: This is going to be huge.

SACS & Co will be a vendor at the Indianapolis Junior League Holiday Mart!
If you haven’t been to one of these amazing annual shows, here’s a breakdown:
Over one hundred unique, fantastic, talented merchants will be setting up shop in the same building for thousands (and thousands) of shoppers to experience.
There will be food.
There will be amazing, exceptional gifts.
There will be extraordinary jewelry, art, coffee, and toys.
And yes, there will be wine.

Many of you are familiar with the Indiana Artisan Trade Show SACS & Co loves to partake in every year, and this year a few customers began recommending this Holiday Mart in addition.
After friends at the Olive Branch encouraged Marta and Lauri to give it a shot, they couldn’t resist (and yes, they will be there too!).

Lauri says this could easily be the BIGGEST show SACS & Co has EVER been in!

The sisters are working in overdrive. Thousands of soaps, hundreds of candles, and more are being made in preparation.
The best products will be featured, and there might be a couple specials you can only get at the show!

So please, clear your calendars. Not only is SACS & Co asking for you support, but there will be so many merchants that you don’t want to miss out on. It’s going to be a blast!

Shopping days will be November 14-17, and you may want to consider the Girl’s Night Out and the Shoppers’ Eve deals for splendid VIP treatment.

SEE YOU THERE!

New Product Photography – From the Multi-talented Marta!

One of the SACS & Co sisters, Marta, is going to be a busy bee this week.

In addition to working at a hospital and making her well-loved Cold Process Soaps, she is now tackling another daunting task: photos of SACS & Co’s beautiful products!

Meanwhile, Lauri is holding down the fort, dishing out hand crafted creations left and right, and working the shop.

Stop in the shop this week and ask how things are going; surely Lauri will have a fun story to share with you!

In the meantime, keep checking the website for new photos, and even better, new products available online!

Announcing New Soaps!

We have added a few new soaps to our store.

Marta is now making beer soap. Yep, you heard right, BEER soap.  She is using beer from a local source and it is turning out amazing.  Out now is our OctoberFest style beer with Raspberry following in a couple of weeks.  Also, there will a limited number of gift sets with 3 different beer soaps out then too.

Lisa Christen won the “Name This Soap” contest with Calypso.  It is a mild scented soap made with coconut oil, palm oil and olive oil.  Look for a new contest soon.

Peppermint Oatmeal is out.  It is a “cooling” peppermint with toasted oatmeal.  Smells fantastic and feels just as great in the shower.

We have Aloe Lemongrass which is 10% aloe butter.  Green Tea and Cucumber which contains 10% green tea butter.  Key West Soap is probably the most popular right now.  It has real sand and sea water from Key West.  We only have a limited amount of sand and sea water left, so get your bars now.

We are working on a few new class ideas too.  One will be a beginners course in Cold Process Soap Making.  This will be for 18 yr old and older.  You will learn how to mix oils, water and lye.  You will make and take a pound of soap with you.  Two will be an intermediate course in Cold Process Soap Making.  You will learn how to use colorants.  Look for a combo “Make & Take” class of soap and candles.

We have a new gift set out.  It is “Heels & Toes”  It contains a foot scrub, foot soak, foot balm and a scrubby in a reusable gift box.  We will have more gift sets out this week and next.  They are wrapped, no price tags to remove and ready for you.

Summer 2011

Hard to believe that summer is almost gone.  My niece is going away to college to study Arts, my nephew is now a level III CFA and we both passed our certifications.  Now on to the next level.

We have added new products.  Key West Soap, made with sea water and sand that we brought back with us.  Summer Brew Soap, made with Mad Anthony’s Summer Daze Ale.  Tea Tree Soap is now made with grapeseed oil.  Aloe Lemongrass is back.  Just a few of our newest soaps.

We are adding to our baby line.  We have Cheeky Baby Bottom Balm in 3 sizes now and Baby Oil.  Coming soon is a nut free oil and a baby lotion.

We have several new scents as well as some seasonal ones that are coming out.  Boyfriend in a Jar is one our favorites!  Cider House and Red Hot Cinn will be back on the shelf shortly too.

We have new candle jars.  The look is simply elegant.  They will be available in 3 sizes starting next week.  All 3 sizes have a glass lid and will be available with either a wood wick or a cotton wick.

Enjoy Life. Live Luxuriously.

Post Conference Wrap Up

HSMG Conference 2012

We learned so much at this year’s conference.  We can’t wait to put it all to use.  There will be new products appearing shortly and through out the next year.  Some will be limited edition, we know some will quickly become one of your favorites.

Barbara Corcoran was the keynote speaker.  She is one amazing woman!  She can kick butt and dance too.  She inspired us all.

This past year’s conference was the largest so far.  There were attendees from UK, Australia, various countries in South America as well the USA.  We had 280+ with over 20 vendors.  Our days began around 7:30 each morning and went until 10pm or so.

I will post more on the conference in the next few days.

Conference and Beyond

HSMG 2011 Annual conference

Our Member Logo

Hard to believe that May is almost over, summer is almost here and the conference has come and gone.  We learned so much!  Marta is now a Certified Advanced Soap Maker!  She passed the test and the 4 soap submission on her first try.  I am now a Certified Soap Maker at the Basic level.  I will post our logos.  Next year the conference is in Miami.  I hope to actually make it out of the hotel other than checking in and out there.

The conference days start around 8am and go until around 9pm or so.  There are speakers during breakfast, seminars, networking lunches, more seminars, incredibly amazing evenings.  I am always surprised at how much they can pack into three days!  In addition to the speakers like Carol Moseley Braun, Robert Tisserand, Debbie May and many more we got the chance to meet some of our fellow soapers.  There were 303 of us there.  It was the first year the conference was completely sold out.  Next year there is only room for 450, since it is in Miami I can imagine it will be sold out soon.  Now we are trying to assimilate everything we learned and put it to good use.  Marta is already getting very creative and has some ideas that will soon appear in our store and online.

We have classes started on every other saturday.  The next saturday class is May 22, 2010 at 1pm.  It is “What’s In Your Fridge?”  We will be focusing on tomatoes and how to use them as cleanser and beauty treatments.  We will also do a demo of our Facial Clays.  Ladies, you may want to bring make-up for the quick touch up.  The cost is only $5.00.  Limited seats available,so reserve yours now!

Enjoy Life, Live Luxuriously,
